Currently the Interim Associate Pastor at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas, David Belk is responsible for the Sunday morning Bible study classes and various outreach ministries and he preaches and teaches several times a year. In addition to his role as Interim Associate Pastor, Pastor David Belk serves as the Assistant Director with New Hope Initiative based in Houston, Texas. New Hope Initiative is a faith-based, non-profit organization that has a compelling desire to bring real positive change to some of the poorest communities in the world. As Assistant Director, he's involved with ministry development and awareness, leadership development, training pastors in developing nations in areas of Christian ministry, preaching and leadership skills. He also assists with fundraising and various administrative duties.
In 2015 and 2016, Dr. Belk volunteered as a discipleship leader with Sagemont Church in Houston where he focused on developing resources and strategies for new Christians. This included teaching a discipleship class for newcomers and responding to various questions about the Christian faith and what it means to be a Christian.
Dr. Belk studied communications at Texas Tech University before earning his Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2001 he earned his Doctor of Ministry at Southwestern, and is a fully licensed and ordained Christian minister.
